US President Donald Trump wants to meet again after the congressional elections in November with the North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un.
That said Trump on Tuesday, according to accompanying journalists on a flight from Washington to Iowa. He could not leave because he was involved in the election campaign, the president said.
Trump’s Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo met with Kim Jong Un in the North Korean capital Pyongyang over the weekend to discuss the planned summit. At the first and only meeting between Trump and Kim in Singapore in June, the North Korean ruler had reaffirmed his will to nuclear disarmament. So far, however, he has made no concrete commitments as to when and how his existing nuclear weapons and rocket arsenal should be dismantled. Also, it is still unclear what the consideration of the US look like. Trump had promised vague collateral.
