Thieves cleared the entire lead roof of a historic church in England. The strangers from the 14th century church in the town of Houghton Conquest had 20 tons of metal.
The robbers discovered the robbers when they were surprised that the sun shone from above into the building.
The community estimates the damage to about 100,000 pounds (113,000 euros), as the news agency PA reported on Friday.
A police officer spoke of a “brazen” act: The criminals would have driven up for many days with large vehicles, scaffolding or long ladders set up and have cleared the church roof.
