In the American steel industrial city of Gary, on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958. The little Michael, the 8th child of mother Katherine and father Joseph, turned out to have a huge musical talent at an early age. Eventually the boy grew into a world star with the nickname The King of Pop. He would have celebrated his 60th birthday on Wednesday, but died on June 25, 2009 at the age of fifty.
Michael Jackson started his career in 1968 in The Jackson Five, a band with him as lead singer and his four brothers as a musician. The group immediately scored a number 1 hit with I Want You Back.
Jackson married twice. His first marriage was in 1994 with Lisa Marie Presley and second marriage was in 1997 with nurse Debbie Rowe.
