Gisele Bundchen (38), in her own words, initially struggled with the double role of top model and mother. “When I became a mother, I somehow lost myself. It was as if a part of me died,” she told the US People magazine.
“I was this very independent person. It was only about me. But now I had this little creature, and suddenly I had the feeling that I could not do anything else and that was very hard for me. All I ever wanted was to be a mother, but when you really experience it, it’s a shock, “said Bundchen, describing her inner conflict.
For them, the balancing act between family and career was particularly problematical: “I had all these horrible, self-imposed guilt feelings. I thought what a terrible mother I am if I leave my child for a day. ”
About her self-doubt and how she dealt with it reports Bundchen in an autobiography, which appears on 2 October. The Brazilian is married to football player Tom Brady (41). They have two children aged five and eight.
